This is a fully functional post war replica and an early serial (1962-1965). My grandfather bought this new and it sat in his gun safe until it sat in mine. I never use it. Its serial is N148, making it approximately the 13,148th rifle of 112,000 produced by this company.
It’s in fantastic condition. Runs like a dream. Surprising lightweight. And has that satisfying M1 style bolt slide action.
Always kept in a safe. The stock, being from the early production, is a beautiful Black Walnut with the original finish, only a couple of small dings. And I mean small, you can see two small places with missing finish and then feel one small ding on the stock but can’t see it otherwise.
It has the bayonet attachment, adjustable iron sights, and sling mounts (sling included).
I have the original magazine sold with the rifle as well as two modern replicas I purchased a decade or so ago.
Since these aren’t sold often on this site, I can’t find a single one, it’s excellent condition, its early serial with the walnut stock, I’m gonna ask for $750. I arrived at that number based on the fact surplus ones go for $2k+ and the low end of low quality, late serial models sell for around $400. I feel this price is more than fair. And I’m willing to wait months to sell it so don’t bother low balling me.
