The Kimber Polymer 1911 series represents Kimber’s historic, late-1990s and early-2000s expansion into high-capacity, lightweight defensive pistols. While Kimber is famously recognized for classic, all-metal single-stack 1911s, the original factory concept for the Polymer .45 ACP lineup was engineered to deliver maximum firepower while reducing weight for carry.
Production of the original polymer legacy line ran from roughly 1998 to 2001. Frame Construction: A lightweight, high-strength polymer frame molded directly over a heavy-duty machined stainless steel frame insert. This insert maintained standard 1911 slide-to-frame rail tolerances and structural integrity.
Action & Caliber: Single-action, short recoil operation chambered in .45 ACP
Slide & Barrel: CNC-machined from solid stainless steel or carbon steel forgings, complete with a lowered and flared ejection port to assist with reliable casing ejection.
Kimber Polymer Custom: Full-size model featuring a 5-inch match-grade barrel and standard 14-round capacity.
• Match-Grade Trigger: An aluminum skeletonized trigger riding inside the steel chassis insert to maintain a crisp 4.0 to 5.0 lb break.
• Safeties: Standard 1911 configuration featuring a manual thumb safety and a functional beavertail grip safety.
• Magwell: A subtly flared factory magazine well designed to facilitate faster reloads with the wide double-stack magazines.
It comes with one Mecgar high capacity magazine. No box or paperwork.
