For sale is a M1903 rifle (Serial 321XXX), an early production rifle made by Springfield arsenal in 1907. Stock appears original and rifle has a Sedgley 1944 replacement barrel.
This is a "early" or "low number" 1903 and is highly collectable. This specific rilfe was rebarreled and shot after WWII and found its way into service as a Civil Air Patrol rifle before being sold to the civilian market. Although this rifle has clearly been shot many times, it is up to the buyer to determine how they feel about the "low number" reciever debate.
No pitting is apparent on the outside surfaces, minor pitting inside the barrel. String rifling is apparent.
