Antique Colt double action .38 caliber revolver from the mid-1890s, part of Colt’s New Army design era. This is an original, unrefinished example showing age-consistent patina throughout.
The barrel address is worn but correct for the period and reads in full as:
COLT’S PT F.A. MFG. CO.
HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.
PATENTED AUG. 5, 1884 NOV. 6, 1888 MAR. 5, 1895
Six-shot swing-out cylinder with rear pull Colt-style latch. Cylinder rotates counter-clockwise when cocked (viewed from the rear), which is correct for early Colt double-action revolvers of this period.
Matching internal numbers “9136” observed on the frame and cylinder. The grip frame is drilled and threaded for a lanyard ring (ring not present). Smooth wood grips with normal age-related handling marks.
