Eagle N marked on barrel chamber and slide, indicating the weapon passed the nitro test fired with a load 30% hotter than the accepted maximum caliber specification. Barrel chamber also marked 62 antler, indicating it was manufactured in 1962 at the Walther Factory in Ulm, West Germany. Left side frame stamped with the Crest of Hesse property stamp, a marching lion within a multi-crowned shield. This indicates the weapon was in the service of the Hesse State Police, one of seven State Police authorities in West Germany. The police marking is X’ed out which was common when the weapon was dropped from the Department’s inventory. Marked with Interarms Import Stamp on right side frame under the slide.
